So I bought a 1080TI at launch (Aorus Extreme) since launch The temperatures have been pretty bad across 3 different builds.

  • Airflow in all cases have been great Testing other 1080TIs in my case averages 69C for the same workloads.
  • Average temp 79-83C at 4K.

Today i setup a GPU brace (I bought this for a 3090 I have on order) even though the sag at the tip of card very very slight thought I would try it.

average temperature is now 74-77C, still not great but much more reasonable, Clocks gone from 1800 to 1890.

This is not to tell everyone to do this, but just thought i would share my experience.
maybe something was to making good contact, but either way much better temperature
