Awesome day today. Not posted in a while due to new business startup. Thought these looked good...all taken at Ullswater...all taken on 30d with 10-22mm Canon wide angle lens...

They're very nice. Love the wide-angle (must get one for myself). However i cant help feel that they're distinctly lacking a polarising filter. For £30 (~) you could improve your shots tenfold. With that lens i presume you're going to be doing a lot of landscapes and such, it would be well worth your while.

I had a quick play in PS, but obviously a CPL will do this without the need for over-processing. Hope you dont mind.

I love the original shots. Very nice and it makes a change from all the HDR landscapes that are posted here.

I recon a ND grad may have been more useful than a CPL in this case.

CPL's go dodgy on wide angle lenses due to the size of them. You get more effect in the middle than the edges leading to multi-toned sky.
A ND Grad could work, though.

Incidentally... a week ago me and the missus were standing beside the same lake, taking pictures :D Beautiful area, sad to be home :(

Scam, that shot looks over-saturated, I prefer the oroginal - far more natural.
Hmn a bit more saturated, but nothing more than a CPL or an ND Grad would have given imo. All i did was give it a curves adjustment layer and drew a gradient mask for it (think a PS-style ND Grad) - then on that drew an 's' shape with the bottom fairly low to deepen the sky. Nothing else!

I'm not sure. Maybe both, if possible? You could use the CPL to cut the reflections from the water, then the ND Grad to deepen the sky.

Anyway, they are nice shots, i'm just trying to improve (i think it's called being picky ;))

All very nice shots I am very fond of the first two. I can't wait till I can afford my wide angle lens after seeing these!

Also adding a person in the photo's gives a nice focal point as well in my opinion.

Nice pics!

Need to get out and get some myself. Not been to Ullswater with the camera yet - looks good.

Where else did you get to?

I personally like coniston and tarn hows, some wonderful photo oportunities there - and only 15-20 minutes from my flat too! :)

No 3's my favourite too!

Nice shots, No.1 is my favourite.
The only problem I have with them is that the clouds are overexposed and the sky lacks any sort of saturation/detail. As has been said before, an ND Grad filter would have improved these immensely.

Everything else is spot on though, good effort.
