I think he needs to be more realistic with his salary demands, especially with how things are at the moment.

pricing yourself out of the game when you want more than twice the current world champion lol
 
It makes economic sense perhaps. But why would a world class driver with the opportunity to compete at the pinnacle of motorsport take the more financially viable route? I know if it were me, I'd want to be driving instead.
