not sure about this syncing with itunes

...but I have a small selection of mp3's (favourates) which have been purchased that I would like to put on the Iphone. Do I simply drag them into Itunes from cd and sync and transfer them to the iphone?
I am hoping the process is as simple as me . (Sorry for the seeming stupid question)
