Ok. So i said i wasnt gonna overclock. Havnt tried since winding the old 2500 Barton up and thinking i was good;). But no. Couldnt resist could i:p Now with these dual core thingys and the DDR2 whatyamacallthem I think i have achieved something but not sure if i have done it right. With no increase in voltage running an E6600 and pc 6400 OCZ ram i managed to get 3.6 Ghz but i probably am missing something. Could some kind soul have a looksie at these screenshots and see if all is looking good? Thankyou very much;)

Am i missing something cause that seemed too easy:confused:

Is everything on auto?

for 400Mhz RAM most would run at 4-4-4-12 amd not 6-6-6-18.

Also the CPU voltage is rather high for 3.6Ghz though not had much experience of those chips (never had one) but i'm sure people use that or slightly above to get around 4ghz

Someone with E6600 knowledge will be better but thats my input!

Everything on Auto except the memory. I havnt fiddled with the timmings yet as i was surprised it booted. Thanks for your input. I will have a look at that voltage

There should be a lable on the memory sticks stating recommended voltage and timmings,
I agree with The Judge cpu volatge does seem on the high side.

Thanks matey. Just meesed about with the cpu volts but it wouldnt boot into windows with any less than 1.600v. Havnt tried the memory although cpuz reports 6 6 6 18 at 400mhz and 4 4 4 12 at 266. Prob not the best memory in the world lol

Hi i,ve got a E6600 and my core voltage is set at 1.475 and think 1.6 is a bit too high shouldn,t really go over 1.5 also the RAM is 5-5-5-18

My E6600 needed just over 1.5v (actual) to hit 3.6.

BUT at 1.3v (lowest my abit will do) it OC's all the way up to 3.3 (366x9)
with only 20w extra power draw at the wall at load - great chip is your looking for a performance rig that needs to be quiet. Most people missed how good this chip is as it really excels at a few hundread Hz below it's ceiling.

speed(fsb x Multi) - idle/cpu load full system at plug (not inc speaker or screen)
2.4 (266x9) - 83w/119w
3.3 (366x9) - 108w/140w (about a 5c temp rise with stock cooler too - 1c rise with my passive wc setup :D)

At 366 you might be able to get your ram running 4-4-4-16 for a bit of extra speed - equals around a 100Mhz increase if you bench with superPi. 366x9 & 4-4-4-16 = 378x9 & 5-5-5-18
