Not sure if this needs to go in Graphic cards?

Using a 4K Acer ET430K monitor and am getting green sparklies and flickering at 4K. Just reduced the resolution to 1080 and the sparklies have disappeared. I have also been getting an intermittent black screen that stays dark for a couple of seconds before returning to normal. This has been happening six to eight times a night over the last couple of days. Could it be both the monitor and the GPU or one of them?

Could also be the DP/hdmi cable isn’t quite up to the job, that’s what I would try first.

If it’s not happening at 1080p then it’s unlikely to be the gpu so long as it’s being stressed the same when testing.

Could be a fault with the monitor, but again you’d expect the same at 1080. I’d try a new cable first and also stress test the card in the mean time to ensure no issues.

It's going to take time. I installed the latest drivers and still had the same issue at 4k until dropping to two thousand by something. I uninstalled the drivers and then reinstalled them and it was fine for a number of hours last night. I won't know whether it is still OK until I get on later. What would you use to stress the gpu at 1080?

Update: I finally got rid of the green sparkles and constant flickering at full 4K by allowing windows to detect the monitor as a Generic P&P monitor. The screen still goes blank intermittently for a few seconds throughout the night, so maybe it's the monitor?
