I've just bought a lcd tv to replace my crt thingy - the only audio out seems to be optical: .

Now I want to be able to play content I already have, and download more stuff onto a low-power unit that I can control remotely (ie through another computer) so I dont have to keep keyboard/mouse attached.

I want the unit to be connected wirelessly, and for any storage to be connected to this unit.

Would be preferable if it could handle streaming flash, but could make do if it can't.

oh yea, I have a fairly old dvd+5.1 system that looks like it takes optical in and co-ax in, so I want the audio to go through to that :)

asrock 330 is good for this purpose?

Other suggestions?

thanks :)

Should do the job, especially if you overclock it to 2ghz like some reviewers managed. You can pass the optical signal through the tv if you wish, although I can't vouch for how it will sound. I'm guessing a Linux OS might be better than shelling out for something Windows based, as I believe these come OS less, Mythbuntu maybe?
