I am looking for a new motherboard, processor and memory set-up. I also require a new PSU.

The motherboard must be compatible with my existing hardware.

3 x Sata drives
X-FI soundcard - PCI - Does not crackle or pop with the motherboard choice
7800gtx graphics card PCI-e

I have four hundred pounds to spend. Can anyone advise me on a compatible bundle or motherboard? thanks

£100 is cutting it short.

Asus M4A78LT-M LE AMD 760G (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
AMD Athlon II X2 Dual Core 240 2.80GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail
OCZ Platinum 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3

Thats a £188.54 inc delivery

Thats a pretty decent setup for a budget build really. You could go cheaper but not from OCUK.

Spooter, where are you getting £100 from, OP has said he's got £400 to spend...

@OP if you could stretch your budget by an extra £30 you could go for this excellent overclocked bundle here

good call davyboy

if you factor something like a corsair TX650w psu then you are onto a winner

just choose an ocuk bundle that suits your budget

[keeps me busy :D]

your gpu is good to go in any pci-e [any current] board

+1.

Corsair are top notch PSU's, I'm looking to replace my 6 month old Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 850w that's already failing with a Corsair HX850, I put my Dad's system together using the HX750, and the build quality of the Corsair units is excellent.

@Rich, I don't suppose you know why the shop has stopped stocking Be Quiet PSU's?

I thought they were meant to be high quality, but after only 6 months of use, mine has started squealing like a little girl under very little load at all, and it makes a constant hissing sound as well, even when the PC isn't switched on...

Sorry to hear about your psu troubles - glad I didn't go for the be quiet last year as I very nearly did - went with the silverstone 850 in the end - excellent.
