I purchased some parts New & second hand to try and get a gaming PC together.

Intel G3258 Processor (new)
MSI z97 Gaming 5 Motherboard (Used)
Kingston Hyper X 8gb Ram (New)
XFX 7870 GFX card (used)
CX750m PSU (Used)

I can get into the Bios if I use the onboard GFX (using a DVi cable).

Trying to get the GFX card working is another matter, It has 2 power connectors on the top (1x 8 pin 1x 6pin). I have these connected to the psu but I'm getting no picture. The fans start up even if the Power connectors are not attached.

I know the obvious answer would be a faulty Gfx card but I need to make sure before I try and get a refund.
