Please move it this isnt a good spot

As usual i have rush bought Me a new pc with very little research.

Ive bought a

1 x Corsair iCUE H170i Elite LCD aio cooler
And ram is also a 32gb argb Corsair dominator kit.

Ok I thought I can run icue software to get these working most importantly the LCD pump screen and the fans on it I'll replace with 3 of the 9 140mm fractal Prisma I have from my old build and run the ARGB from the headers on the new

GIGABYTE X670 AORUS ELITE AX

And use RGB fusion 2.0 ( it's crap but it works) to run all other case fans daiseyed up over the 2 headers.

So both softwares will be simultaneously running...... In theory.

Now I've been reading this is simply a nope. They both fight for bios level control of the ram control and cause crashes.

So I've also been reading about 2 3rd party software solutions that say they can control everything. Open RGB and signalRGB

Oh I almost forgot my Logitech and sound blaster also have RGB insanity but that's unimportant..

Now most of these icue/RGB fusion2 issues
Are dated 2021 2022... Is this still an issue now?

Does Corsair still use proprietary fan connectors? I'm completely regretting ordering Corsair aio now. It's just that 420mm AIOs with LCD pump blocks are either very dear or low on features.

I hope that makes sense.... The parts are arriving tomorrow and I'm already considering instantly RMA on the memory and AIO and try find something else.

Dunno what I was thinking tbh..... :p
Please help.

I'm not a novice but my knowledge is 5 gens out of date.

I've read Asus is much more compatible with icue and maybe that's the easiest route? Flip the board to the similar Asus version..... Dump RGB fusion2....

Signal RGB looks to support all of your main devices, so I'd uninstall both icue and rgbfusion and give it a go

(It also looks to support most logitech devices, and depending on what soundblaster that might even be supported)

Memory: Corsair
Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB
Corsair Vengeance RGB (Pro, Pro SL, Pro RT)

Fans / Cooling: Corsair
Corsair H100I (Elite, Elite Capellix, Link, Platinum, Platinum SE, Pro XT)
Corsair H115I (Elite Capellix, Link, Platinum, Pro XT)
Corsair H150I (Elite, Elite Capellix, Link, Pro XT)
Corsair H170I (Elite Capellix, Link)
Corsair H60I Pro XT

Mainboards: Gigabyte
Gigabyte B550 Series
Gigabyte B650 Series
Gigabyte B660 Series
Gigabyte B760 Series
Gigabyte X570 Series
Gigabyte X670/X670E Series
Gigabyte Z390 Series
Gigabyte Z490 Series
Gigabyte Z590 Series
Gigabyte Z690 Series
Gigabyte Z790 Series

Signalrgb is fantastic
Just the free version works for 6 different
Manufacturers leds in my build
Can't remember about corsair fans rgb
It probably will pick up a corsair controller

The 2 softwares might run together
If you're very lucky
You would have to try
But signalrgb is way better than most Manufacturers software
It will also tell you if you have
Any other software running that causes conflict
And offer to stop them running if you want

Ok.
I was deffo ok to use it but what I'm worried about is the LCD screen on the fan. Surely that's only gonna work with icue...
I really struggle to find real world examples I'll start looking for tutorials on signal RGB etc

I take delivery on Friday, work weekend so looks like this won't be a rush to build....
Ive got my 14 days return window to try it out but if rather return in opened package...

Thanks and more tips welcome.

I don't even mind if I can run icue and fusion together if they are compatible now .

Thanks. Giving me confidence at least :p

Yes a display will need the manufacturers software
I need to use asus armoury crate
For the single task of the oled display on my motherboard

Just installed icue to see
Seems to run at same time as signalrgb
Though I have no corsair devices
So although icue is running
It might cause conflict if I had it actually accessing something
No easy way for me to connect some corsair parts
So can't test it that far to see

Ok.
I was deffo ok to use it but what I'm worried about is the LCD screen on the fan. Surely that's only gonna work with icue...

This might help with that, and then just use SignalRGB for the rgb side of things (Zefirsflashyapp is confirmed to work fine alongside signalrgb)

Ok :p

Well there's hope.
I'll try it on my current pc see what it finds what I can fiddle with.

As you can see rgb/argb is a total mess
Microsoft are also getting in on the act too now
Windows 11 is starting to support rgb devices
Though so far none of mine are picked up

Microsoft really should buy out signalrgb
And get a running start on it

For a rough guide
Just in case you have any of these

Free version Signalrgb works my
Asus crosshair viii extreme built in leds
Ie ones on heatsinks,io shrouds etc
Works with the motherboard headers too
Lian li al120 fans
Either connected to the lian li controller
Or to motherboard header
Thermaltake tough ram
Ek gpu waterblock
Ek 011d xl distro
Phanteks led strips
011d xl built in to the case led strip
Might have forgotten something else lol

Yeah logitech g502 mouse
And corsair strafe keyboard too I forgot lol

Somethings lian li controller for example
They get recognised as what they are
Then you go to devices section left hand side of page
Then need to put your mouse over something
Forgot exactly what
But it pops up a hidden option
Then you can add how many channels you're using
On lian li controller
Then can select how many fans from a drop down list
Al120 fans are in their database

Things like gpu blocks, distro, led strips etc
Are "dumb"
They don't report what they are to software
I just add those as custom led strips
Tell it 10 leds then keep increasing the amount
Until all the leds on that particular device are lit up

Sounds more complicated than it really is
Only bit I don't like is having to mouse over something
Before it shows some options

Other than that you can pick from a load
Of free and community presets
Or if you really want to
You can go deeper into settings
And individually "paint" every single led whatever colour you want

THE only Rush and RGB you need in your life
iu

Having a good play with signal RGB and its "fine"
I can turn of my logitech KB and mouse, i prefer that to be done byGhub... Ok np...
Right now i've just got the 9 argb fans (6 LEDS per) all on 1 motherboard header apparently :P oops i forgot that.
I've found sufficient free effects to get Rainbow puke nyan cat vibes going at seizure speeds if needed...
It doesn't support the AE5 soundblaster... No loss.

I found a guide somewhere that told me how to run Icue and SignalRGB so I should be happy....
Its a shame its a complete fudge fest it would be very cool to have everything working together out of the box with no need for 3rd party work.

Ill update when i get everything going. I quiet enjoy the problem solving of it all tbh, but next time ill deffo plan a bit better.

Yeah it's definitely a mess
Proprietary connectors and software
Just designed to try and make you buy everything
All from one company
Regardless of whether one of their products might be great
But another product from another company
May be a better choice for a second device
I tend to buy from any company
If they have the right product at the right price
Don't like being tied to one company

Was so much simpler in the old days
We shoved in couple of cold cathode lights
Job done lol
