Hi there,

I'm not that clued up with gfx cards tbh! The one in my current system is a Nvidida Geforce FX5500 (zeus 5500) however when playing games and doing trickjump i can't make the higher fps.

I have been given a card by a mate but i'm not sure how good it is and i will be needing drivers aswell, from looking at the card i found it says Gigabyte R9200NF rev1:0. Correct me if i'm wrong but i guess that it's a Gigabyte Radeon 9200.

Is it worth changing the cards round at all??

Could someone point me in the right directions for the drivers??

Thanks a lot

marc

Yes I'm on XP, i know an upgrade is needed sooner rather than later however i'm strapped for cash atm, am i right in saying that there will not be much of a increase of fps in the 2 cards then?? I only really play one game and that is RTCW 1.0 so higher power GFX cards are not required

thanks for your helps

marc

H there

The 5500 is faster by a good margin compared to the 9200. The FX5200 is about on par with the 9200.

If all you play is RTCW the 5500 should be fine right? I used to run RTCW on the following;

GF3 Ti200/500
and FX5200

And they both ran RTCW fine, quite good infact.

If not consider selling both cards. I sold my 5500 on a popular auction site for £27 last sunday. The 9200 should fetch £20ish. So your looking at £45 to spend on a newish card. That would get you in 9800Pro/6600GT/X800 (If your lucky) territory.
