Not sure which pre-build to get

Hi, looking for some input. I want to get a desktop to just play games, I don't currently own a PC so can't salvage any peripherals.

I have a budget of 1200, which of the overclockers pre-builds would you recommend? I should point out I know very little about components other than I've been told I should try and ensure I have an intel i5?!?

I also don't like the idea of spending that sort of money and braking something!

Well, for gaming the Intel i-series CPU's do beat the AMD offerings for most games, so I'd certainly go Intel rather than AMD for a pre-build.

What I'd recommend you do is choose a keyboard and a gaming mouse, and then choose a screen. Work out what those 3 things cost, and deduct from your budget.
Also, speakers or headphones? I absolutely LOVE my Acoustic Energy speakers, but they were a little over £100.

Then once you know what budget you have left, you can get a recommendation on which system is best.

See below.

This was just a general one and will manage all games on 1080p. Do what Matt suggested and pick the peripherals and OS first then come back with an absolute max budget for the PC itself.

You cna also get the non K version of the cpu with the retail fan if you are not overclocking. This will save some pennies too.

Is that better than the GeForce cards ? I've posted on a few forums and that's the first time that brand has been put in the build a quick google search shows it's quite good though.

Another question do OC build pcs to order such as the above? Or is it an advertised prebuild?

That card, the 280x is better than equivalent Nvidia card, 770.

I am an Nvidia fan but if I were getting a new build id have a 280x.

The one I've postted is a build to order. You can alter it by using the configuratior on the pre-build page.

Best way to get exactly what you require.
