Not sure which way to go with Headphones

Hi all I'm a new here but looking for some help. I've not looked at headsets for a while so a little out of the loop when it comes to what is good and not.

My sennheiser headset has become faulty to be honest the switch that allows the mic and volume have been a little tempramental for a year or two now it's started to effect the left side speaker to the point I feel like I've gone deaf one side when wearing them lol.

I've been looking at both wireless and wired not sure which route to take. So a few bits of info I'm using windows 10 and I use the on board sound probably willing to pay upto £150 ish if the headset is good I'm also open to buying a mic separate as I'm not doing a lot of voice comms at this moment in time.

What motherboard do you have by the way?

I'm still running an asus premium LG1366 board think it was a P6X58D Premium with first gen i7 with an asus 7970 matrix platinum graphics card old setup I know but seems to run any game I've bought so far I'm due an upgrade but wanted to see how the new AMD chips pan out.

I'm still looking at my options for headphones/headsets I did the whole sound card thing a while back but ran out of room when I did originally do sli/crossfire.
