Had a phone call today to tell me someone I have known for 60 yr has died. To be honest it was a blessing as he was riddled with cancer.

It makes you open your eyes as although we had known each other for 60 yrs we had lost contact for a number of those because he worked in middle east and then lived near Bristol - The thing that shocks you is how time fly's -He had 3 kids when i first met him (work) and then another 2 and his oldest is now in his 60's -His second oldest died of brain cancer years ago due to (they said) being on his mobile all day every day (own business)

There isn't many left now from my era -so must make good use of each day as it comes. As long as I can keep logging on here I will know my brain is a bit addled. :D

Sorry to hear this. Even when it's expected, the losses still hit hard and deep. As you said, taking each day as it comes is all we can do. RIP to your friend, at least they aren't suffering now. GD will always be here to annoy, titillate and invigorate you. :D

Sorry to hear it. Yes, having lost a lot of family and a few friends it really makes you think about how much time we all have left.

Sorry for your loss, not been too good here, best man, ex sister in law, her eldest son also passed last year, one of my sisters rang on new years day, her partner passed that morning, not great is it, take care mate.

Good grief Roddy you have had a bad year sorry to hear that.
There is only 4 people left of us and that includes myself - there are two more but they are toxic and we have nothing to do with them.

All I hope is wife goes before me as I am better at being on my own. Sad world when you get older.

Keep your head up and best for whatever future we have.
