Not too happy about idle temps.

My Agp Geforce 6800GT is sitting idling at 60c.. with a zalman cooler fitted. I'm sure it should be ok but it does seem a little high? the cooler is top class and even kept the card from burning out when I forgot to conect the fan once!

Should I be bothered? or do these cards just run hot? Ambient is @ 37c

Total load seems to be around 80c.. how can I test this outside a game?

Edit:

Damn I just put my case back together and now its @ 70c idle and ambient is @ 46c :(

Further Edit:

Lol its that old problem with the fan.. it appears I have a dodgy connection on one of the zalmans cables. I'm gonna sort it and see what happens.

Well the fan is running again now and its still around 63c idle.. guess thatll have to do.

Well I feel like I'm talking to myself here but if anyone is interested, I took of the zalman and applyed some AS5 and its now idling @ 56c. I reckon thats as good as Im gonna get it.

It seems from your post that airflow in your case is not too adequate, this has an effect on the idle temperatures of your vga card. But if it's working and you're not receiving crashes it might just be fine?

Edit: hmm... just noticed you have a P180 case... perhaps the cards just run slightly hotter.

Yeah the P180 is a bitch to keep any thing remotely tidy in there, I could put in the vga fan cooler thing but as you say Im not crashing or anything.
