Followed all steps from the monitor manual, and all I get is the black screen with the blue light flashing.

Here is what I've got:
- Mac Book Pro 15 " (early 2011 version)
- 1440x900 px resolution
- Video card: AMD RADEON HS 6750M 1024MB
- OSX Lion 10.7.2 (11c74)
- External USB keyboard
- Wireless mouse

- HAZRO MONITR: HZ27WC 8 bit 27"
- DUAL LINK CABLE - came with the monitor
- Mini Display Port To Dual-Link DVI Adapter (the one that has a USB port on it as well)
- from Apple payed 70
- recommended for resolutions of 2560x1440

And here are the exact detailed steps I've taken:
1) Laptop and Monitor are both turned OFF

2) Plugged all DVI cables and audio between Laptop and Monitor.

3) Plugged Monitor into the power socket
- Result - Red light turned on in the bottom right corner of the Monitor screen.

4) Turned ON the Monitor from the button on the back.
- Result: - Flashing Blue light started.

5) Turned Laptop ON.

6) After Lion started, went to System Preferences > Display > Detect Displays
- Result: -Flashing Blue light continues
- Nothing shows on the screen, still black.

7) Closed the Laptop lid.
- Result: -Flashing Blue light continues
- Nothing shows on the screen, still black.
- System went into sleep mode

8) Pressed external keyboard to wake the sys up.
- Result: -Flashing Blue light continues
- Nothing shows on the screen, still black.

* After this I also bought another Miniport Display Dual Link DVI (cheaper, not from Apple),
which hasn't got the USB port on it
And also another Dual Link Cable, to check, just in case the cable was damaged.

- Result - same as above, flashing blue light, screen black.

If anyone has the same configuration and it works for you, or if you have other alternatives,
please let me know ?!

I would much appreciate your help.

It could be a problem with the macbook, the adaptor, the cable or the monitor itself and you need to try and rule as many of them out as possible. Can you try the adaptor and cable with a different system and/or monitor? Can you plug the monitor into something which has a standard dvi port instead of using an adaptor? Can you try a different dual link dvi cable?

I have tried those cables on a different monitor and they work ok.
It's the monitor - was faulty - I sent it back to Overclockers and got a refund.

miniDP to DL DVI cables are buggy but it may well be the monitor (without checking, we couldn't tell).

After this I also bought another Miniport Display Dual Link DVI (cheaper, not from Apple), which hasn't got the USB port on it
Which model was this as we're not aware of a chipset which is self-powered
