Hi, thought I'd bate you all with an intriguing title, guess it worked eh? ;)

I'll try to keep it short for those duped basically i can only play my 360 at night when the missus and the baby have gone to bed, its the only time the TV is free.

Until a few nights ago the baby was sleeping in with us, but now he's in his own room. Until then the baby monitor was in the living room for when he went down early, and the camera in our bedroom.

Now the camera is in his own room and the monitor is either in the living room while shes awake, or then in the bedroom when she goes to sleep, but the 360 is never on when the monitor is on as the missus is in the room.

So i was happy playing last night (1st time since the move) until she came storming in saying the monitor was breaking up which wasn't the main problem but there was crackling coming through the sound which means she couldn't get to sleep.

We tried everything, eventually i turned off the 360 and it went away. Turned it back on and it came back!

Surely my 360 isn't effecting the monitor like this in another room! The only time i get to play is during the night, and if it breaks up when its on i wont get any game time EVER!

The monitor in question is:

HELP!

Thats some crazy big interference if the monitor's a few rooms away. Are you playing with a wifi connection by chance?

Gaming is more important than your childs saftey, get rid of the baby or the monitor.

:D

If i did that i'd be missing two vital things that would mean i'd never have another baby again.

Worth it imo. ;)

She likes going to sleep watching him. Its bad enough i moved the cot into his bedroom when she was out shopping nevermind that! She already thinks i've 'stolen' her baby off her, crazy tbh.

Not hooked up to internet mate, it gets worse when the game loads.

Like the baby monitor, the 360 does use 2.4GHz wireless range for the controllers - so there are both transmitters in the 360 and each wireless controller.... not just for wifi net access with the dongle in the back.

Even if you are using a wired controller, the transciever will be active in the 360 as it keeps an eye out for other controllers.

It could be the baby monitor thingy isn't locking correctly onto it's camera's channel and picking up interference from the 360's 2.4GHz signals.

(The only other similar thing i've heard of is a story just before the 360 launched - that the demo 360's were interferring with other wireless equipment in shops (i think it was Best Buy in the US and the demo 360s) but that was due to the shops equipment not being certified correctly for 2.4GHz operation and it wasn't the 360's fault...)

Grow some balls :p and tell her how its going to be, she cant have everything her way. So either that happens or she lets you play 360 whilst shes up and around.

First baby by any chance?

Sounds like your missus needs to lighten up a bit, babies are quite tough and it sounds like if you dont step in now and make her realise this she is going to turn it into a real mothers boy/girl! She sounds just a little over protective!

Simply tell her that she either puts up with the interferance or you have the monitor with you, or just get rid of it. Its bloody easy enough to tell when a baby needs something from the almighty screaming they come out with :D

Sounds logical. You could always switch to a PS3 as they use bluetooth controller which I doubt would interfere - I dont mean that in an anti 360 way, but purely as a way for you to have your cake and eat it.

Thanks for all the replies.

Yes she is VERY overprotective but a fine mother at the same time.

Its our 1st and she will grow out of it, its just he's getting more difficult to put down at the moment (tossing and turning, burying his head into the corners of the cot) and he's also ill, nothing serious he just has a virus which he cannot shake which is making him chesty and bunged up which worries her.

I dont think its the controller, it seems to be the console, i dont have a wired controller to test it.
