Dont know why its doing this, but my S3 wont rotate its screen anymore?

Obviously the screen rotate option is enabled and I have tried disabling it and restarting it and enabling it and restarting it and doing all the funy and not so funy things with that, but its makes ZERO difference?

The sensor seems to be workign just fine because any games that require me to tilt the phone all seem to be working as they should, but when I try viewing pictures or a video, I have to watch a tiny little thing with massive top and bottom borders on the screen in Portrait mode, and also when I use the camera, the camera itself is landscape, and its messages are all normal, but when I change the settings, they are upside down? ( of course I can turn the camera upside down but then its messages will be upside down )

It just wont display anything properly, its all sdrawkcab ssa!!!

Anyone have any clues other than to do a full reset?

I will have a hunt around for sure.

I have a 7" tab 3 and a 10" tab S and they are setup the same as the phone and with the same software etc and they work as they should, so, I will have a quick hunt, but if I dont have any luck, I will just wipe and start over. Everything I need really, get saved to my google accounts anyway, so I should be ok... Unless tha cause also gets backed up LOL.

And while I do that, I think I will test my new gorilla glass by hitting it with a hammer too yes?

No, I dont think so!

I have decided that all my data is just fine and dandy and so I have simply reset the phone and viola... its sorted.

I wish I knew why it did it, but there you go! - possibly one rogue app I recon?

Wow, that was a childish responce.
I am thankful of any help, but you suggested dropping my phone.
Interestingly you only offered the links AFTER you dropped your dummy.
I was sure it was software issue, I knew it was some setting or some apps, and I knew that simply giving it a bang would more than likey do nothing to it, other than risk breaking it... I have already replaced the screen 2 times and at £175 a pop on a £600 phone, Im not going to risk spending yet more on it just to cure a very minor issue that would more than likely be sorted by simply resetting it.

And it was.

Is not fully working and back to full use and I have not had to throw it at the floor.

I think you'll find you dropped your dummy first, giving it a firm whack on the back with the palm of your hand is going to break nothing.

HecFam had a similar issue he offered you the solution that worked for him and you came back with some sarcastic crap.

You think so? Ok, then I will accept that maybe I was.

I certainly did not mean to, and I dont think I did, but if you think so, then ok I will accept I am wrong.

I was actually happy with my reply. Still am I didnt think he would take it seriously, I was merely... Sod it. I meant nothign by it and its clear to me that he took it in a way that I did not mean it.

However, he did not just suggest a slap on the back , I am perfectly fine with that... he also suggested dropping it from a meter high, and I thought that was a suggestion I wont go with. I still do, and I admit yes, some people would do that, I am not among those people.

Perhaps I should have added a LOL or a smiley face, but I thought it was obvious that I was simply having a giggle, and I thought he was too, I was wrong obviously.

Accelerometers get stuck on a wide range of phones, If i had intention for you to break your phone I would have suggested chucking it in a fire. A medium slap on the back or a drop on a soft surface isn't going to knacker your phone.

If you went to all the effort of resetting your phone and the issue still wasn't fixed, maybe my comment may have helped, a quick google would have shown that my suggestion wasn't out of the question.

I am genuinely sorry that we have gone and had a disagreement and this is NOT my intention.

But please accept that I said that games still worked fine, so the accelerometers were working perfectly fine. knock of any kind would NEVER be the issue here.

Secondly, in my reply afterwards, I said that resetting the phone DID work?

I am sorry if you read that wrong too!

Ok, as long as there is no negative between us... I dont want that.

Sorry to have replied negatively, I did not mean to.

Hey, asa funny one for you, I often go to sleep with my headphones on, and I am severely disabl;ed and I often wake up in extreme pain and in a real confusing state, and I did one time, in the middle of the night, I woke up and my leg was killing me in incredible agony, and the wires had sort of wrapped round my face and in a huge strop I just grabnbed and tore at the wires and in a huge temper, I threw the phone across the room and it smashed into the wall... I realised before the phone even left my hand, but I was already in-motion and I could not stop myself and I was gutted as as seemed to splat and then drop. I was in a huge temper with myself when I realised what I just did, and in typical idiot mode, I grabbed my iphone too, and hurled that.

My iphone ( the 4S ) at the time was in a full gorilla case, and that hit the same wall at a much higher pace than my Note 3 did... ( I also kept saying S3 earlier on, but its the Note 3 Im talkign about ).

Anyway, I went to get the phones after I calmed down, the note had a massive crack all down the screen and it was clearly ruined, but the iphone didnt have a scratch on it! - that gorilla case was definitely worth every penny.

I got a gorilla for the Note 3 and it is simply too big really, plus the USB port does nto seem to be a 100% fit, neither do the bottom areas of the screen next to the button - they seem to be just a little too tight and so the case I dont use.

Anyway, replacing the screen through Vodafone cost me £175 and that annoyed the hell out of me.

About 4 months after that, I knocked it off the kitchen table and it hit a very solid floor and once again... £175 was wasted... I really didnt want to, but the cost of the phone plus repairing it, made it an expensive phone that I just would not justify not paying out on it, and that hurt me badly.

But thats not all... Here comes the reason why my wife thinks divorce is a good idea....

3 weeks later, I was in my disability buggy when the phone fell out of my pocket, but it never hit the floor, it was held up by the headphones and, like a complete pleb, rather than simply pull the chord to bring the phone up, I bent down./.. This made the phone drop to the floor, when I proceeded to run over it by the back tyre! - what a total plonker.

I had a leather case and when I took the case off, there was not a single mark on it, but the screen went black. This time I tried a dirty, and I took it to the shop and I told them that it had not worked right since I had it, but the screen would always come back on after I took the bettery out, but now it wont come on at all ( lies etc ).
They put it down as a non payment repair and sure enough, I got it back fully working and since that day I have made absolutely doubly sure that I have looked after it like a baby.

Just thought Id let you know how much of a git I am.
