As title really, my phone has been in an Otterbox for 2 years but I'm finding the battery running out frequently..

I can get my phone out but it's hard I really want a case that will protect my phone if I drop it but will allow battery changes without too much pain...

If I was you I would buy a new battery. I bought one from Amazon for my note 4. An anker one. Makes me realise how much my original one was failing.

Just get a new battery as above, I got a genuine one from Amazon for around a tenner.
Bought one for my wifes a couple of months ago and she's gone from charging everyday to twice a week.

I'd agree. Still got the original battery and it dies at anywhere between 4-48% (suspecting Samsung have a limit of 2 years on their batteries forcing you to upgrade if you know no better)
Ordered mine earlier today.

I have a Spigen wallet case but the magnetic clasp affects the screen writing (which I no longer use, but still worth mentioning)

I've had a few Samsung phones and every one had battery failure around 2 years in. My note used to get to 15 percent then die. Now I have a new one it's no longer an issue.

I swapped out my battery for a new one last week (which did help, I had the dead phone at 20-30% thing going on),

It was the act of swapping the battery for a new one that made me think about a case that's easier to remove so I can swap the battery when its flat..

I think you should treat yourself to using the phone without a case. I was precious about mine for first 6 months but for last 18 months or so it's been naked and quite happily taking a beating.

Cases make a big phone even bigger :(

im toying with that idea, £500 shiny / no case / drop = disaster, 24month old (not so) shiny / no case / drop = excuse to upgrade
