Notebook mem upgrade

Hello,

I was just given a 2GB DDR2-533 SODIMM from a friend.

My notebook already has 2x1GB DDR2-533 in it,
I am wondering if I yoink out one of the 1GB module and plonk in the 2GB,
if that will hinder the dual channel or not.

Shall I put in the 2GB or leave it as it is?

Do it. The extra memory will make up for any negligible performance difference between single and dual channel.
