Notebook memory for music production

Hey, I have a laptop with a AMD MT37, and 1 gig of ram.

It is setup exclusively for music production, its running pretty smooth, but if I load in a few too many instruments it can get a little glitchy, and I want her super smooth.

If i stuck in a Crucial 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C5 200-Pin SODIMM Dual Channel Kit (CT2KIT25664AC667)

2x 2GB, 667MHz RAM Speed, CAS 5, 1.8v SODIMM, Unbuffered, Non-ECC, Lifetime Warranty with Crucial.

Would that do the trick? Would she run much better?

How do I know if the RAM is compatible?

Is it worth getting that over the 2 gig kit? Running XP by the way.

no because win xp cannot see over 3gb ram, unless you have xp 64

Ahh its XP 32bit, so I should get the 2gig kit yeah?

Go to the Crucial website. They have a couple of very good memory tools that can scan your system and tell you what should wok.

the ram says "PC2700s" on it, and its made by Samsung, is that compatible?

Just ordered 2 gig of the Crucial RAM, 95% sure it is compatible

It's not, my laptop takes DDR ram

Anyone know anywhere that sells cheap DDR ram for laptops? (They dont sell it here so im not in trouble

)
