Hi,

Does anyone know of a notebook cooler that you can use on your lap? When I put my Vostro 1500 on my lap, the air intake to the fan in blocked and it gets noticeably hotter. What I need is something to lift it up a little creating a bit of space under it, and if it has fans of it's own to provide extra airflow that's a bonus, but the fans would have to be quiet or adjustable.

There's loads of notebook coolers but they're mostly for desks (ie they have legs and are intended for a flat surface) and some of them use their underneath for their own intake, so therefore when you put them on your knee you block their own air, plus the best ones I've seen weigh about a kilo, which is excessive IMO. Hoping there's something suited out there somewhere.

Cheers.

Ah found one, the Coolermaster NotePal Infinite, which takes the air from the back and has a flat underneath and adjustable fan. Looks perfect. 700g but I don't suppose you can get anything useful that's going to weigh less.

I got a Yate Loon one off the bay a few months ago as her lappy was heating up terribly and crashing etc (about 5 year old thing). It makes it infinitely better as you can actually be on it for more than 5 minutes without it overheating. Think it cost £15 delivered, its not the quietest though
