using notepad++ recently, well i always thought i was but turned out that was only notepad2, but anyway one thing which really gets to me is it's lame save as feature, in that everytime it will automatically go to the notepad++ folder rather then last used and there is no short cuts on the left, only the current folder meaning i have to click back back back back back until i get to desktop and then go from there.

is there anyway to improve it? plugin perhaps?

the open feature is fine and what it should be like so don't understand what it has asuch a bad save as.

I share your angst! I've been doing a lot of work with Notepad++ for Uni recently and it is so darned annoying having to navigate from the Notepad++ install folder to my My Documents area.

Checking out the plugins page, there is one that sounds close but I don't think it is for saving files. :(

Its open source, isnt it? There's your answer.

I came across this issue not long ago and it bugged me, I didn't pay much attention to it though.

Mine seems to work ok it goes to the last folder I saved to, although I can remember way back the first few times I used it, it went to the install folder.

I'm using XP Home

Just been fiddling with some options in Notepad++ and I've found something that might fix the save as feature.

Go to Preferences>MISC. Try the "Remember the last operation directory". Might work or not, don't really know. :)

You used e to make that word "scriptabilitationness"? :p

What do you mean by that? I don't really do much scripting. Are we talking programming something or using scripts to automate stuff so its quicker?

It uses bundles and snippets (both ripped shamelessly from TextMate on OS X) which make repetitive tasks ridiculously easy. It automates as much of the banalities of programming as it is physically possible to automate, which is awesome.
