Hey guys,

Just replaced the motherboard in my system to a MSI P55-GD80.

However im not getting anything show up on my monitor,I have reset the CMOS by pressing the button on the board,Also removed and put back in the Battery.

Checked everything is plugged in right,It is...checked on MSIs website to make sure my ram is compatiable..it is.

Any idea whats up?

thanks

Hi mate thanks for replying.

There is no monitor connectors on this board for intergrated graphics and my Cpu does not have a built in Gpu anyway. :(

Just tried on stick of ram,Still nothing.

Everythings powering up on the board, cpu fans running, gpu fans running etc but nothing on the screen and it just goes into power saving mode. :/

I hope the board isnt faulty. :/,I got it from the MM market here.

Just tried my GPU all of the 3 Pci-e Slots but still nothing showing up on screen, and yeah i did have it in the first slot closest to the CPU.

Yeah ram sticks are in both blue slots,The post LED at the bottom of the board isnt showing anything,However there is a constant red light on next to the Sata ports,Im not sure what this light is but according the the manual its HD LED..

also the cpu phase LED is showing number (8) in green.

appreciate your help!

Change them to black slots mate. you have them in wrong slot.

I had a issue with my seagate on POST HDD would refuse to power on, I had a software update for this HDD witch fixed my problem.
Tried after switching RAM removing sata cable from HDD and see if it posts am sure you can get into BIOS without an HDD connected.

Sorry I see you have SSD's taking use have them has boot drives, try dis-connecting them for now and get into BIOS

Changed them to black slot,Still same issue.

As for connections,Yeah i have 8 pin in for CPU and the 24 + my gpu connectors i just checked they were fully in..they are.

Something always happens to me like this...Arghh. :D

Know how you feel mate, built this system not so long ago witch MB I picked had same issue. I know its not something you have done wrong, it seems MB is dead.
Can you send it back? they isn't much more I can help you with :(

Ive tried everything i can think off and those you suggested,So looks like this board must be a dead un. :/

Mother board is defiantly not dead, it was me who sold it and it was working absolutely no issue's when sold.

@Nev, your graphics card, is it flashed with a 6970 bios?

The 8 next to the cpu is how many phases it's running at, 8 is it's full on power so that's nothing to worry about.

Have you checked your mounting in your case?

Hi Ivan,Im not saying you sold me a faulty item mate ive dealt with you before and you were top notch. ;)

as for 6950,No its compleatly stock 6950.

Cpu phase is showing 8 yeah,Its not mounted in a case atm its on the motherboards box outside the case. :)

Was you getting a constant red light next to the Sata ports when you had this in your system?

Might be worth rebuilding it outside of the case, to see if anything's shorting out.

Also worth checking the gpu in another PC to make sure that's still working.

Like mentioned i have it outside the case already,Not got another GPU or another PC to try my GPU in but im very confident its not an issue with my GPU.

Not too sure about the red light next to the sata ports (I think they light up for each sata drive connected, the pci slots also have a blue led to show if it's occupied), try without any sata drives connected mate, get us a couple of pictures up mate, it may be just you have a cable wrong, I have 2 times connected my dvi cable on my graphics card to the wrong output (nothing shows on screen and I scratch my head like a fool) , make sure you have connected the dvi cable to the right output mate.
