Hi, I plan on building a new gaming PC for myself with an i5-2500k. I'd like 8GB of RAM but i'm not sure which to buy. To me it makes sense to just go for the 1600MHz RAM and buy an expensive motherboard to support it, but i've noticed a lot of 'spec me a pc' threads say to go for 1066 or 1333MHz. So my question is, is there any noticable difference in gaming and every day PC use if I go for the more expensive 1600MHz?

1333MHz is really the lowest speed available.
Perhaps you're getting mixed up as DDR3 1333MHz RAM is known as PC3-10666.
Most builds go with 1600MHz as there's very little difference in price compared to the slower 1333MHz.

There's not much of a price difference between 1333 and 1600, so just stump up the cash for the faster stuff IMO.
