currently i have a radeon 9800pro. Which i think is AGP, so i wondering if something like this:
BFG GeForce 7800 GS OC 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (AGP) - Retail (GX-016-BG) will give me a noticeable difference in performance when gaming and by how much? i dont wanna spend the extra money if it is only gonna be a small upgrade.

it should quadrouple your current frame rates.

depending on the resolutions you play at it could make a massive difference(1280x1024+) games like HL2&CSS wont really benefit, but later games like NFSU2, Quake 4, Oblivion, Prey etc... will play rather well... if you can afford it spend the extra and get a 512mb 7800GS+ by gainward as they are a lot better then the average 7800GS.

That will be a huge booooost :D

You can use THG's Interactive VGA Charts (here) to compare. 9800PRO should be roughly the same as a X700 Pro/XT
