Notifying us of pre order date changes

I think OCUK are in general doing their best, I had a few sites open and had set my mind on the MSI Gaming X Trio purely for the OC and relative silence and they certainly hadn't price gouged it initially (My order shows £759 which is the MSRP).. Some e-tailers had it up for £799 or more and are still in the same boat pre-order wise.

I will keep banging the "I think it's about time they went to a proper e-queuing system". Having been through that a couple of times now on big console launches etc, it's a great customer experience and being separate it can be on other servers to the main shop and easy to stop scalpers etc.. I'm not sure if queue systems exist off the shelf, but developing one wouldn't be too difficult.

They should! Then this mess wouldn't happen. Not hard to put a number on how many is or isn't in stock. This is 2020 not 1980's.
You understand that OcUK are not the ones unable to give the info, the unobtainable info is further back along the chain.

Not blaming OcUK specifically it's the whole process. There has to be stock numbers somewhere.

If a manufacturer produces 100000 units ready to ship to shop stores then that number is divided between how many need to have them, not hard.

Then they slowly can change this to whatever their manufacturing rates are.

Supply chains don't always provide allocation to each avenue/customer until stock lands with them and this is the real situation. It happens with all industries and products for high demand, lesser available goods, not just for PC components.

Some companies have policies where allocation is given once stocks arrive, it's is not ideal for the consumer when this happens on launch but it is just the way it goes. Nothing will change the operational policies for companies when it is something that only happens once every 3-4 years on a product type.

That’s what happens. All you people jumping the gun got sniped. Lol

Not really true at least in my case. In my case I had the order ready to go through at £649 and within seconds the website signed me out then back in defaults on amazon pay then signed me into a different account and pushed the order through at £709. I've asked to cancel my order if they won't honour the original price so I'll be getting my money back.

How did you go about asking for the cancellation of your order. I want to do the same!

Posted in the other thread, but..

From what I've been told there were are 1700 pre orders of the MSI 3080 Gaming X Trio alone.

Chances of getting one before Christmas are slim and to expect a mass email once OCUK get a stock update from Nvidia.

1700!?1 Christ Alive I really hope thats not true. Really has been a horrid launch and it seems we are being shafted by a lot of retailers. Still, first world problems right?

You realise that OcUK I expect won't have a clear understanding of how many cards and when they are coming right?
It is never clear until a few days before for GPU allocation at launch and then for the 1st couple of batches afterwards.

So OcUK cannot tell you what they also will not know.

Gibo has already said that he will give us all an update on what is going on at some stage today.

Open a request via the forums over in the customer services section. I always get a reply very quickly.
