Novice build, help required!

Hi All

Would really appreciate some advice on my first build. After much head scratching I have put together the following spec:

1. Processor (CPU): Intel Core i5-2500 3.30GHz (LGA 1155)
2. Motherboard: Asus P8P67 Intel P67 (Socket 1155)
3. Memory (RAM): G.Skill RipJawX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9
4. Hard drive 1: Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
Hard drive 2: Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
5. Graphics card: HIS ATI Radeon HD 4650 1024MB DDR2 Low Profile PCI-E
6. Power supply (PSU): Corsair Builder Series CX 500W
7. CPU cooler: None required
8. Case fans: 1x 120mm (Back), 1x 140mm (Top)
9. Case: Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming
10. CD/DVDRW drive: LG GH22NS50 22x DVD±RW SATA
11. Sound card: Using onboard sound

I'm using the machine mainly for html coding but I also do a fair bit of retouching in photoshop. As this is my first build I wasn't going to overclock the processor just yet.

Just want to make sure I haven't made any glaring errors. Any guidance is really appreciated.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums

Personally Id change the PSU for the BeQuiet PurePower L7 530W

If you want to OC at all you need the K variant of the CPU

Oh it may also be worth considering a 5450 over the older 4650

you could get a H67 chipset motherboard as you have the normal 2500 cpu selected which doesn't overclock like the 2500K does.

And get the Antec 100 case which is newer, looks better, black interior, cable management, and not a rip-off like the 300 is.

also may i ask why you're picking 2 x 500gb F3's rather than 1 x 1tb F3?

ahhh fair enough, just curious as to why you were paying extra for the same storage
