Novice question about CPU temps

I've only had my build for two weeks now and just started gaming on it.
I'm getting 25-30 degrees when idle and 50-55 when gaming. (not overclocking)

Is this healthy?
If so, then how comes when I place my hand over the PC vents, it's still feeling pretty hot?

I understand this may be a silly question but I'd like to know what temps are considered 'safe'. I'm probably being paranoid over it.

It's an FX-8350 for those wondering. Using an R9 280x.

I also have an aftermarket cooler (Hyper 212 evo) and four fans inside the case (Define R4)

Your temps are fine m8,especially considering the current heatwave.

Under 70c on the cores is considered safe on FX cpu's.Your felling hot air because your cpu and GPU are both quite powerhungry and generally produce a lot heat when put under load, sounds like your 212 evo is doin a good job tho(they are very good coolers) :)

the temps are fine, the heat you can feel is what your GPU and CPU are producing and then the fans in the case are getting rid of that heat rather than it be sitting inside the case.

generally the rule is cold air comes in from the front of the case and then hot air is pushed out through a top fan if your case has 1 and a back fan.

my temps are 41C idle and then 63C while under load and that is with a overclocked I7 950 @ 4ghz

Didn't think the heat wave would help much!

thanks for the replies guys.
