Just downloaded the demo for batman AA. Must say i underestimated my gfx card severly. Even with physx on high i had no major lag - granted the full game might have bigger areas that may stress my card (any ppl who've played through could clarify)

So my overclocked bfg 8800gts 512 should see me through until nvidia can sort there cards out, and ati can sort there driver and supply issues.

Gonna go for the kill now and see how gta4 handles, thatll probably wipe the smile off my face!

That will wipe the smile of your face for sure, hell i had a old 8800gts 640 meg that ran batman perfect with all on high, its not the most demanding game but gta will for sure do it.

I played GTA4 of my old 9800GTX (basically the same speed as your overclocked 8800GTS 512. The game ran silky smooth. However, I was running a i7 CPU - and as the game is heavily CPU dependent that is what gave me the good performace. In terms of graphics - it doesn't seem to be particularly demanding when you have the graphics options set right.

What CPU are you running?

im running a q9550, but the xeon version x3360 @ stock.

tbh the unreal engine is just....unreal. it both looks and plays amazingly!

What res are you running at? My GTX 280 struggled at 1920x1200 4xAA with physics on high, and I actually ended up buying a second hand 9800GT for dedicated physx. This made gameplay a lot smoother and much more acceptable for me.

I guess it all depends on how you're defining no major lag? Have you run the benchmark and do you run fraps in game?

1680x1050 and 2xAA. Havent run the benchmark, neither am i running fraps, it just plays smoothly throughout. I think if this card had another 512mb of ram i could put the aa up a bit more.

Card in sig averages ~25-30 at 1920x1080, 4xAA, maxed with physx on high. I'm not too fond of the actual game though...

Thougt the game was great myself... aside from a couple of places where the port to PC wasn't well thought out.
