Why don't microsoft just release the OS on a cartridge device that you can plug into a PC, or better yet do a deal with a mobo manufacturer so the OS is already there when you turn it on...

Solouko said:i'll second that as a GOOD idea o_O' i mean... it does have it's problems.. you cant upgrade it, but you could have it firmware upgradable o_o' and you could indeed load it onto something equaly as fast as a ram drive and have it plug into a PCI slot or something
it's not like you dont get preloaded software anyway... you can get norton applications and unix all on flash memory all pre installed so there's nothing stopping Microsoft, but out would have to be a cartridgecause you'd have a flash drive, a firmware section, an interface, and some other stuff to make windows work right x_X
