Now this, is flash.

A decent Flash site's a bit of a misnomer, is it not :D.

2advanced, and sites like it were cool a couple of years ago, but they now just look naff and dated to my eyes - things like tiny body copy, pixel fonts, inaccessible and confusing layout and being slow and bloated to use.

No doubts they're a very talented bunch and their designs always look beautiful in that industrial/tech way, but I'll always prefer the simple, fresh HTML site - where typography and layout has due consideration and room to breathe - over this type of thing.

Yeah the site is impressive, but not to my tastes. It's the showreel that impressed me most. Showing that to potential clients must go down well.

no flash 8

gotta agree with Augmented...i'm not really into flash, i prefer a nice html layout. Flash should be left for games; i love a good flash game :)

The 2advanced Demo reel made a part of my brain melt and i went into a kind of trance. Must be some crazy psychological message implanted in my mind now.

:)

this is a good example of designers building a site that only impresses other designers. But is in fact, not that useful. The text is small, it's difficult to navigate, and it takes ages to load.

yeah, but web design should (in my opinion) be geared towards (or at least be able to be viewed by) the lowest common denominator, and flash (in particular this site) just isnt. imagine viewing that on a 56k (yes, people DO still use it) line, or even 256k dsl. when i view a website i want it there yesterday.

there's no denying that what you can do with flash is impressive, but it's not practical enough for web design, again in my opinion
