Was having a late night session of Pro Evo 5 before heading to bed, and was playing the 2nd leg of a cup quarter final, as Real Madrid against Valencia. The first leg was 1-1 away from home, so a 0-0 draw would see me though. Alas, in the 8th minute a defensive mistake gifted them a goal. From that point on I dominated the whole match, creating chance after chance only to miss, or find the keeper pulling off a great save.

Come the 90th minute I was ready for defeat, but Raul had the ball in the box surrounded by 3 defenders. A quick turn later, and he was able to pass it off to Julio Baptista making a late run into the box. One touch to settle himself, and the 2nd touch put the ball in the corner. I pumped my fist so hard I almost burst a blood vessel in my head.

So onto extra-time. Again I dominated possession, but this time without creating chances. The 2nd half of extra-time brought the same thing, until I got a free-kick in the 113rd minute, 26 yards out. I actually said out loud, "I've not scored a free kick in ages". Cue me bending the ball with Beckham perfectly into the top corner. I got up a danced a little jig. As you do.

Of course, I now had 7 minutes to defend, and as you'd expect, Valencia piled forward. In the 119th minute, the ball broke free in the box to Kluivert. I watched heart in mouth as Casillas made a great save, then make an even better save to push the follow up shot away. I cleared the ball and the whistle went.

The emotions I went through in that 10 minute match were amazing. Anger, frustration, despair, joy, elation, panic and then relief. I can't think of many other forms of entertainment that can make me feel this way. And *that's* why I play games :)

Try going 3-0 up in the first half, getting pegged back to 3-3 in the second half, go 4-3 down at the start of ET, equalize near the end, and then lose on penalties. Not my proudest moment but was damn funny for all my mates (one of whom I was playing)

You playing Pro Evo 5 on the 360 in backward compatability mode? Whats it like in terms of 720p? Any issues?

Badly in need of a footie game and tempted to get the XBOX1 version of Pro Evo 5 to tide me over.

Pro Evo 5 works fine on the 360, though I only use a normal CRT television, so the visual quality remains exactly the same as on the Xbox. :)

After reading the OP i am convinced you have just played Sensible soccer.

Sounds exactly like one of the conversations me and my Bro had after just about every game on Sensi.

snipped. :p :o

That's the great thing about Pro Evo. It's got a fantastic drama generation engine built straight into it. I wish they could incorporate that technology into other genres.

I had an awesome game last night, I was Man U against two guys playing Inter. It ended up for 4 - 3 to me, but it was back and forth stuff and by near the end of the match my heart felt like it was gonna come through my chest. Some games I've had have felt akin to the feeling I get watching England play in the worldcup or similar.

Anyone else get that feeling when you need a goal to win a cup tie, and you know the next time the ball is kicked back towards your goal the ref will blow, knowing its your last attack you sort of suddenly become "cool" and things seem to slow down, you end up rounding 3 players and slotting it away, then you say to yourself "how come I wasn't playing like that all the time?". Of course there's an equal number of times in the same situation where you suddenly become vergy aggressive, accusing the game of being scripted from the beginning, and how you were never going to score no matter how long the game went on for, and how you know the computer just ramps up the difficulty when you're playing in a cup semi final, and how you could have sworn that defender only had a pace of 75 compared to your strikers 95 who has only just come on ffs, and whats the point playing the game? Then you forget all that, press start and go through whole process again. Its techncally known as a PES compulsive disorder.

would love a game of Fifa or Pro Evo with you some time Davey :)

I played a fifa match last time, had a defensive error which led to one nil down, for the WHOLE of the game, i piled forward, had chances, hit the wood work 2/3 times, but just couldn't put it away. After the game, me and t he guy who i was playing, commented on how enjoyable the match was, my best moment on live yet i reckon.
