Front end also all off...

Subframe has been replaced, at the moment we have removed:

Lights
Front Clam
Rear Clam
Exhaust
All wishbones
Anti-roll bar
All hubs
All brakes
Bonnet
Engine Cover
Roll bar cover
Seats
Speakers
Interior Trim
Steering Rack
Wheels
Undertrays

Really not much left on the car now...

It's getting all the accident damage fixed and new:

Balljoints
Brake Pads - Pagid RS14
Brake Discs - Mintex C-Tech
Braided Hoses
Fluid
Bushes
ARB Droplinks
Tie rod ends
Track rod ends
Alloys - Team Dynamics TD 1.2
Tyres - Toyo R888 semi slicks
Doorcards
Door Pockets
Gearlever console
Plus a few other bits. Engine mounts, radiator, nitrons, header tank and full service done recently anyway.

Should come back to life better than new :)

Hi there

All sounds good, so is insurance paying for all of this or did they write it off and now you've purchased it back off insurance?

Written off, still awaiting the final figure the assessors have come up with for the total loss less the salvage.

Looking good and nice list of plans there!

Did there turn out to be any chassis damage? Subframe doesn't really count as that's replacable ;)

I like your little 'forensic tent' that the work is being done in :p

I take it your budget won't stretch to putting in a K20? :D

Nope, damage was only minor to the subframe really, absolutely no chance whatsoever of damage further back.

Budget won't stretch to a K20, not that I'd want one, it's only a sensible, albeit extremely expensive option for Elise owners. No one has put one in the VX yet as there's no need as you could get a VXT with a few minor tweeks and have 240bhp straight off.

Hi mate, glad to see you are staying positive (you always seem to though like when it was keyed). Keep the thread updated as I find it really interesting. :)

Have you got all the parts you need?

I know of a Breakers yard near me (Glasgow) that has a VxT for salvage if your needing anything i could pm you the number.

My dad was looking to get a few wee bits off of it for his Vxt but never got round to it.

Cheers, I think I only need an exhaust heatshield now and a rear light which i just need to pay for. Their contact details would be great thanks.

It will be a CatD but I'll have sufficient evidence of the damage and it will be coming back much, much better than ever before. In fact other than the supercharged cars I don't think there will be a better all round VX 2.2 in the country really.
