Nowt or nout?

Considering almost everyone is saying "Nout" is wrong and "Nowt" is right , shouldn't "about" be spelt "abowt" then ?

Considering the spelling of a word can, in English at times, mean absolutely nothing on the way it is said that is not much of an argument!

Definitely nowt. And there's nowt wrong wi' usin' the word nowt. Nowt also has a brother...

As I remember having to explain to some of my uni friends one time,

Nowt = nothing
Owt = something
