NR200 Owner's Thread

I'm going to have to get a slim fan as I have a b550i aorous which won't allow a full sized fan on top of a fuma 2. I'd like the extra pins so I can cut them to size to fit the slim fan to the top with no sag

There are pins that will fit slim fans discussed earlier in the thread but you'll have to find the discussion, they are called clevis pins

Very helpful chap from what I recall ;)

Managed to get a SF750, but still nothing else as only RAM and m/bs are reasonably available. Annoying that a case - not as high tech as the other components - is so hard to get.
Apart from availability, the GPU and CPU market has become competitive at last, this years new products are good, but I suspect next years GPUs & CPUs will be even more interesting.
I can see why people have gone for consoles this time, the total PC cost for similar gaming results is high, and as good as this case is there's considerable effort involved deciding on fans and optimising airflow.

So played Control for about an hour at 1440p, RTX on Medium, high/Ultra graphics. 120+ fps. 3080 did not get over 66°c. I did a slight undervolt as well. 1905mhz at 875mw.

Need to play with the fan curve. Sure that is some cool temps with the tempered glass...but i do hear the fans since they spool up to about 1100rpm. Dont get me wrong they aren't loud...but if I can get 70°c and be quieter than it is now...I'll go that route.

My NR200P and SF750 is underway.
What would be the best way to mount my Asus 3090 TUF;
In the bottom or on the side with the risercard?
I have to fit my 240 AIO oppsite the 3090.
My goal is to keep the GPU as cool as possible. The CPU (9700K) will have no issue with heat regarding mount position.
I will be using the mesh side and not the glas panel.

I don’t think there would be a big difference for gpu temps if mounted at bottom or vertically mounted and up against the mesh side panel.

for longevity of the AIO though mounting it on the side bracket will be much better than at the bottom.

Therefore AIO on side bracket drawing air in through mesh side panel and gpu at bottom drawing air in through bottom vents is the preferred configuration. If you can shroud the gpu so that air can be channelled in directly to the fans this will be even better. Some people have 3D printed shrouds but even some carefully cut foam or neoprene would work too.

Well I have gone from just having ram and an SSD for my Nr200 to securing both a 5900x and a 3080 FE in one day. That on top of getting the ever rare SF750 last week which arrived today!

Pretty happy to say the least, except my NR200 is on back order until the end of the month :D

To take a shine off though I ordered a Mugen 5 yesterday at 10am as my 5 year old AIO only has intel mounting hardware and it missed the pickup so I can’t start building.

Very nice! Yeah I got a 5900x in my cart but by the time I clicked checkout it was out of stock...oh well. Got one on preorder.

Sounds like we're both in a 'waiting for the last part' kind of situation. CPU for me...Case for you.

@Morten I would agree with @***F1ZZY*** that mounting the rad on the side would be better. I know the TUF is a "2-slot" card so it would fit on the riser but I feel like it would have a bit of sag vs running it on the bottom. Sounds like you're running the mesh panel anyways so I think the AIO getting the side mount is more beneficial.

Thanks, now that I've used it during a gaming session last night and also browsing for half an hour I'm going to admit despite how nice it looks I'm a little less impressed

All the reviews i read said it's quiet but I can definitely hear it, no where near as loud as the Wraith Prism but I can hear it revving up and down and it's a little whiney

Also after an hour of gaming CPU hit 73C peak temp which is fine but for the price I would expect it to be better than the Wraith Prism which I've never seen go over 72C even in warmer ambient temps

My system temps were also up due to the missing too down cooler air flow which means my system fans get louder

I'm tempted to pick up a 120mm top down cooler for testing, I want to scratch the itch that might prove a top down cooler performs better in this case than a tower cooler with TG panel

Sorry what cpu do you have, im looking at a 5950x.

I have a completely stock 3600 at the moment

The 5600x has a 5-10c improvement over the 3600x. Might be what you need to keep the Noctua at lower noise levels.

A top down cooler would perform better with the vented panel, with the Noctua C14 with an additional slim 120mm fan on the underside being the best solution. That does however come at the potential cost of noise, simply because the noise can escape easier with a direct path to your ears (assuming the case is on your desk to your right)

Does it really, that's good to know I'm thinking of getting one when the chaos dies down and they're readily available at RRP

I won't be going with the mesh though, sticking with the glass for noise and aesthetic reasons

I've got an alpenfohn Brocken Eco Advance on the way bit I ordered it Monday and it's still not arrived so will probably end up waiting for a replacement, I'll report back to see how it compares to the NH-U9S on the 3600

I'm thinking of finally doing a SFX build with 1 of these, wanted to do it for years but never have, I'm looking for peoples opinions on case tho and if anybody has some advice for people swapping over to SFX?

Case is great, plenty of room while being small enough. The case is a good bit of kit and a bargain at the price.

No issues with sfx power, I've used them in my last 2 builds (used evga and Silverstone). So long as it's a good quality power supply you'll have no issues

The NR200 was also my first SFX build. I loved building in it, and I love the look of it on my desk. It's on the larger side of SFX cases, so it is a great place to start as it is easier to fit everything in and route the cables. The price is also brilliant considering everything you get with it. Go for it!

The alpenfohn Brocken Eco Advance arrived today, went to fit it and can't fit it, you have to use their backplate rather than the standard AMD backplate unlike every cooler I've tried in the past.

The alpenfohn backplate does not clear the motherboard mounting bracket on my setup, the motherboard is a b550i so I don't know if its a combination of the two or not but the backplate I found impossible to fit.

Shame really I was hoping the underdog would perform well but I'm staying with the NH-U9S now and maybe get another fan for it

Case & SF750 finally arrived from OCUK & Amazon respectfully. Build was relatively easy even with my inexperience of good cable management skills. Very impressed.

Hey everyone! I recently purchased the NR200 with a Gigabyte B550i and a 3900XT and using an old GTX 980Ti until I get a 6800 sometime next year.

Even after research I am having trouble deciding which CPU cooler I want to go with! I plan on using the mesh panel with GPU on the bottom orientation. I want to OC my 3900XT as well if possible!

With that being said, what are my best options for a CPU cooler? I have been thinking the Arctic Freezer II 240 AIO, Noctua C14S, or the Noctua U12A but am open to any suggestions!

Thanks everyone!

240 AIO on the side will be the best bet. Freezer II does fit but its an extremely tight. I'd suggest getting one where the pipes come out of the side of the CPU block instead of the top, that should make it an easier fit.
