NSIS Installer - silent install options

So I have a program that was complied using nsis. I need to install the program silently, google says /NCRC /SD /D=E:\app should install silently, but it doesnt.

Has anyone managed to work out how this installer works silently? I cant be the only one wanting to install silently with this type of installer yet google is failing me. I need to pass in a few other options too but /? wont help

setup.exe /S <--- Silent install

setup.exe /SD <--- Silent install and suppress message boxes.

Replace setup.exe with the name of the file you wish to run.
