Hi all.

I would like to replace my old mastersocket with the newer NTE5 one, which I know BT will need to do.
I have bought an XTE-2005 faceplate for the NTE5 (when it's fitted) and I plan to have the router at the mastersocket, but how will this effect sky boxes, alarm systems (which is hard-wired into the phone line), etc?
Will I need to do anything with these? Or do I just install it, move the router to the mastersocket and that's it?

I thought the XTE-2005 filtered everything from the mastersocket, so I didn't need to use those annoying micro filters?
I expect the alarm company will charge a bomb to come round and filter it.

It sort of does, and you don't, but the Sky and alarm are going to have to be connected to the filtered terminals on the XTE. Its presence doesn't mean the things that need filtered magically get filtered, though I'd imagine both would need to be rewired to the new master socket anyway.
