NTL 10MB

10Mb? I've been on 10Mb for a few months now and it's awesome. I love being able to download items quicker than they can be played etc. ;)

I see they're slowly intending all packages to be a minimum of 10Mb, shouldn't be long till I'm on 20Mb then if 3Mb customers are going to be 10Mb eventually. Should be interesting, however, that article is from 2005.

i really shouldn't have said that, should i? lol

shaping? yeah, they seem to be. nothing in my area atm though :p

Nope lol, not when im around. :D

Yeah my mates on NTL's 10mb, and hes not experienced any shaping yet either. :)

I've been on NTL 10mbit for a little over a year now. No shaping in my area either but then I only ever do big downloads overnight. Always get 1200KB/sec though.

Been on 10mb for over a year and faster too while they have been trialling other speeds. Fantastic performance and great service too. Don't know why so many have a problem with them really!

Its not shaped, throttled or otherwise slowed down - I get the full 1200kb/s+ 24/7.

Have you seen the date on the link you posted...Carl

Release date: 08 August 2005

Old news.

Yes I saw the date, and it’s relevant to my situation...ajm

Well maybe its not old news to me? Find something more constructive to say and pull your finger out you’re *** while you’re at it...

Been on NTL 10mb for months now, only recently been getting reduced speeds when downloading a lot of things. From 1.2mb/s to 300kb/s at max :(

well it might sound rude Carl but everything you posted in that first post was factually wrong. its been out over a year, it was released at £39.99 and actually was reduced to 34.99 and has stayed that price for around 11 months. well ok, its now £35.00. it was never just for the longest-server customers, it's not increasing by £10 and unless there's never been 10mb in your area i have no idea how you dont know about it.....it's been on the website since day one, and i get letters thru the door every month telling me about the 10mb line i'm already on.

Honestly, i cant believe you dont know about it. Neither did ajm but think about it.....if you did actually read the date, you'd know it wasnt anything new or a 'trial before they up the price'. We arent stupid:)

I've been doing speed tests on http://www.speedtest.net/ and it's been going from 3mb to 6.5mb download. Were as before it was a good 4mb constantly.

Not sure really..

True true! Thanks for clearing it up... I was excited though, I guess NTL was just feeding me angel delight?

I'm pretty sure i've been experiencing traffic shaping during peak hours (obviously) mainly because when i play games like CS, my ping will change from a low 20 to a high 60-70. My download speeds also reduce by at least half.

i think come new year, weren't they going to start introducing 25mb?

that's a little bit of new news for you
