They are going to increase the non direct debit payment from £4 to £5, Where is it going to end? They seem to be exploiting the customers by charging this and gaining money for nothing.

Why not just pay by DD and stop whinging.

Unless you've not got a debit account with a bank I see no reason NOT to pay by DD.. you make it harder for yourself (having to go to the bank / post office to pay) and you make it harder for the company (not having a set day in which they know money will transfer from your account).

Yes, but ultimatly you are still getting the exact same service as everyone else, so why should you pay more just because you prefer (or have to) pay via other methods?

It's blatent exploitation imo.

You'll find most companies do this due to the increased paperwork/admin :)

It’s a good thing too in my eyes, why should everyone else be burdened with the extra cost?

Its not economic to have other than DD type payments anymore than coin operated Gas/electric meters. Let them that wants them pay for them!

While I do agree £60 a year is a little on the high side if you pay your bill's by the due date anyway DD is far simpler and you have the right to an instant refund under the DD T&C's. I can't think of anything I don't pay DD now though in light of my revised C/Tax bill today I think I may be changing that ... 'oh we'll take nothing this month, a quid odd next month then £114 x 2' Thankfully they won't charge me £6 a month for paying them early though!

As i don't have regular money going into the bank then it is not appropriate to use DD as the date each month is different.I think as long as the bill is paid on time then this fee shouldn't be enforced.

Telephone and complain, say your moving to sky/be internet/insert cheap dsl here (assuming your over 12month with ntl)... with the extra charge my internet would have been close to £30 per month which meant it have been cheaper for me to switch. I explained this to retentions the result here is half price internet :p

The reason i dont do DD with ntl is due to past experience which lead to bank charges. I have a seperate account just to pay bills and i make sure that there is just enough money to cover what needs to be taken. Anyway i had no end of trouble trying to get ntl to pay the charges, as a result the bank agreed to do so as a 'good will' gesture.

email in trust if you want the number to ring and with help what to say (DONT RING CUTOMER SERVICES you need retentions)
