and if so how please?

The only way I can think of is via webmail, my friends aren't particularly PC'fied - they can sort e-mail through outlook but that's about it.

Thanks for any help

i would have thought so, just enter all the details(pop3 addy etc) in to whatever program you use.
i can read my NTL emails at my girlfriends house and she is on telewest in scotland

yup, enter your ntl pop3 settings and if you want to send email, then the smtp settings of the isp you're on :)

It should work with most isp's as they don't tend to be particulary bothered about people collecting email from outside their IP range, just them sending it.

Most people who leave NTL if it was previously their ISP are automatically downgraded to PAYG aka Dialup, so ntl mail is always still available no matter what isp you use. I left them ages ago but still use thunderbird to check my ntl mail account even though most of it is spam.

Thanx peeps, I just checked their setting on their laptop - and all seem right for the ntl account. They still use the ntl, just their work adsl for the lappy as the kiddies are on the ntl msn!!

They couldn't get any mails from their friends and they had a could not connect when they tried. I think ntl might have had a quirk with e-mail at the same time. I sent an e-mail from my PC and so far no returned errors.

Cheers again
