NTL EtherVPN is basically MPLS, as a lot of the providers are migrating away from legacy ATM circuits, all it means is that NTL will run managed VPNs over their MPLS network for customers, and do all the qos and fancy stuff a lot easier than with ATM PVCs. Most service providers are offering this kind of stuff now, just under different names.. I manage a load of metro ethernet and 2 MPLS VPNs provided by BT and i've never had any problems,,,, I imagine it'll be as reliable as any previous service you've had with NTL.. be it good or bad, lol

Yeah although the etherVPN is a layer 2 service so no QOS is provided, I would do that. What sort of RTT's do you get on those lines (the metro Ethernet and BT MPLS).

Skilldibop:
They do have higher bandwidth but because of the encryption the RTT is higher, typically on our leased lines we get about 2ms RTT, I just found out that the average on the etherVPN service is 8ms so should be negligible. The other difference is the cost, which over a few years is massive.

Any one else used any similar services?
