Guys,

I wanna run my NTL Digital box through a MCE PC using a Hauppage PVR card and then out to my telly.

On the back of my ntl box i have coax in (for cable signal in), coax out, scart (tv) and scart (video)

Im not sure how i would hook up the ntl box to the PVR card and then again also unsure how it would go from the PVR to the telly to run MCE!!!

Im not going to be doing this on a high definition tv yet as i wanna make sure i can get it working without going and spending a fortune on a new telly, but i will be getting one soon and would like to be able to play HD through the MCE PC.......

telly is a SONY-KV32FX68-U-32-100HZ

any advice would be greatly appreciated

cheers

What is your NTL box, a PACE or Samsung?.

I connect the composite out on the Samsung NTL box to the composite in on my TV card on the MCE computer, works a treat.

Im sure you can convert the coxial out from the NTL box if its a pace box to composite in on the tv card.

To connect the media centre pc to your telly you would need a graphics card with tv output on it, i just use a cheap fx5200 card in mine. Then connect the tv out from the graphics card to the video-in (composite) on your tv (the yellow connector).

The quality of the picture isnt going to be great though, fine for watching recorded tv, movies, dvd's etc, but if you want to do any desktop work, surf the net etc the text is going to be very hard to read.

to get a perfect output you would need a lcd tv. In which case you can just connect the dvi output on the graphics card to the dvi input or hdmi input on the tv.
