i'v been on the 10mb for ages now, read its meant to go to 100mb. has anyone any futher info on the upgrades? seen adsl 2 reaching 24mb and i think its about time ntl brought some more competition to the market

Don't know why you are getting excited now. That kind of speed is many, many months away.

You'll probably get 20mb this year and thats it... with 50mb to come after that

100mb is not coming out any time soon, god knows where you heard that!

20/50mb is though. It's being tested now, expect it around Easter time. Maybe :p

As for pings... mine are better than almost any ADSL service I've ever used. My speeds are also spot on all the time. Very happy with NTL right now :)

What did you tell them to get it down to £17.50 a month?

I got a similar deal as I said I was thinking of moving to Sky Max and managed to get £10 a month out of them for 10 Mb (£7.50 retentions credit) also due to the problems we've been having in Glasgow with NTL speeds. In the same phone call the woman in retentions did say that 100 Mb was being trialled in business and an announcement would be made "soon", that's why NTL are doing the deals just now in the hope more will stay when it comes through.

Just watch that NTL might just say fine you can cancel. ;)

Retentions phone number IIRC: 0800 0529403 :)

yep thats why you phone retentions... and always say 'might', 'thinking about'... if they dont offer you a deal say ok i will think about it and ring back.

but anyone thinking about trying to blag a deal please dont ring customer services, because you wont get anything.

It's not going up to 100mbps, that is a little way off. They are about to launch a 50mbps service in the near future though as well as 20mbps

Whoever told you that you are going to get 100mbit on a home connection 'soon' has seen an internal doc stating closed trials were coming up, nothing more. For residential users 20mbit had live (user) trials not that long ago, nothing else has nor will it for a while yet.
