Before anybody asks i have done a search for this thread, but the ones that i have read dont seem to help me.
Basically i formated my drive today. So i needed to reinstall Windows XP, so i turn on my PC, (BIOS reset) , go to the BIOS and set the CD-Drive as the primary boot drive, save and restart, wack my XP CD into the drive. Comes up saying 'Boot from CD, press any key..... blah blah blah', then it says 'NTLDR is missing'
So i have found this on the Microsoft Help and Support website
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=320397
and this from the same page as a Work Around,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305595/
instead of getting the Bcupdate2 utility from Microsoft Product Support Services.
It is a guide on how to make a Boot Floppy Disk for XP. But i dont see how this could work seen as XP is not installed on my hard drive yet, so i wont be able to 'Start your computer by using the floppy disk, and then log on to Windows XP.' as the guide puts it.
Can anybody help me?
