Over the last approx 4 weeks my wife, both daughters and me have had to change the passwords on our email accounts.
Today I've had a letter from Virgin saying they've had an alert that my Virgin Media Mail account may have been used to send 'spam' emails and so they keep blocking my account until I put a new password in and then my family has to do the same.

Anybody else had this and what did you do about it please?

I have been reading some articles and it could be my phone messing it up.
Any advice appreciated.

Move 'em over to a better email service as soon as possible, gmail or outlook.com

Not really a solution when my wife & eldest use NTL for everything.
I transferred to Gmail years ago but it is my account causing problems for the other two.

Put it this way: Over the years, lots of ISPs have phased out their hosted email solutions. Your wife & eldest have an opportunity to move to a better provider before NTL decides to close its email platform. Sure, it's a pain in the arse to update email addresses, but at least it'll be on their terms.

SexyGreyFox, it's been a problem for months if not years with the Ntlworld email accounts, think its got something to do with an accounts migration they did a while back from using google's system to using their own email service.

Not exactly sure of the in's and out's of it all but its been a huge problem for almost everyone at some stage.

You only have to go to VM support forums and see that there was many threads on the problems.

It seems to come and go, Two people in our household have nthworld emails and have had times with constant spam everyday but its not to bad at present.

Ive personally switched to another email service, I think the security they use is really poor, the strongest password you can use is like 6-7 characters long!

i get spam on my virginmedia address everyday.

I still have my ntlworld email and have never been bombarded with spam, it seems to effect everyone differently.

There was a case 4-5 months back where lots of VM emails were getting lots of adult material type spam emails.
Everyone was reporting the exact same spam emails on the support forums.
