Need some help diagnosing an issue with my work Nuc which has been randomly locking up. I could be working and suddenly the screen will go black, no picture out and would require a hard reset (hold down power button) and start up again for a picture.

Event viewer only shows these events when it happens.

I've cleaned out the NUC which was abit dusty still but it's still doing it unfortunately.

Any help appreciated.

Kernel 41 is power error but that can be caused by the pc locking and a hard reset. Would be looking at temps to indicate any error but would run memtest to rule out memory.

Will run memtest to see if it is memory, i have coretemp running and it never goes above 55c so i dont thinks temperature related.

Keep An eye on task manager see if any weird is going on but it's one of those difficult problems to pin point.

Any driver updates lately or drivers needed.

There were a few driver updates to do which i've done now so will monitor it and see if it occurs again. Hopefully that was it, not checked to see if the bios needs an update but never updated a bios on a NUC before but assume its the same as other motherboard bios update.

Would leave the bios only as a last resort , hope it all settles down for you .

Good luck
