I've just had my NUC replaced with a new system after it died. I've just finished installing Win 8.1 and the drivers, but I have a weird sound issue.

In the Windows Sound settings the only sound device I have is the HDMI one, which is fine. But if I configure the speakers the sound that should come from the rears in coming from the front. If I fire up a movie in XBMC I get full surround sound and to the rears. If I fire up the same movie in VLC then that works, now I've configured the audio properly. But not all formats are working properly.

If I use the Dolby test videos (http://www.dolby.com/us/en/consumer/technology/home-theater/dolby-digital-plus-download.html) the channel check fails to make any sound from the rears. The rear channel sound comes from the front.

I've updated the drivers and checked they are the latest. There is obviously something weird with the Windows config, just not sure what or where.

I'm at a loss really as what to look at next. Can anyone help?

P.S. The NUC is connected to an Onkyo NR515 amp, which connects to a Panny Plasma on the ARC (HDMI2) connection.
