Since I have no hope of competing against you folding greats (my newest system is four years old), I thought I'd take a different approach...

So I stomped the lot of you on theSkynet!

If you think you're good enough, come knock me down a peg or two. Or not. Your choice! :p

This post brought to you by: 'competitive streak' and 'shameless plug'.

It most certainly is! Bring it! :D

(I may not have anything to respond with, but it's good for the team - and I've been trying to push the team up the rankings a bit almost on my own recently, which only works for so long)

Its flavour of the year, still, doesn't mean people aren't folding/boincing :) Some of us just keep plugging away, although my dedication to the cause is dented with the latest news from Stanford.

Linked my skynet with pogs not goin to be on for an overtake but will be doing a little.
When Bigadv ends things might change:)

I'm still folding. :)

I was tempted to dabble with mining, but I decided that its too much fuss and too much risk. Plus I'd have to get an AMD GPU for the first time since my 9550 128MB :p

Biffa, I can see why that would hack a lot of people who have spent a lot of money off. I'd considered coming back to folding if/when I get a new machine, but the BigAdv limits are already out of my reach and I can't justify a 2P machine, let alone 4P. Probably not going to bother now as I won't be able to make any kind of dent in the leaderboard anyway (which I'll admit is a lot of what I'm in it for these days).

Stan_Lite, I salute you, Sir! I don't know what resource share you've allocated, but 24 cores is a worthy contender indeed. :)

Have it set at 400:100 alongside GPUGrid on the SR-2. It's using about 80% of the CPU (20 cores). GPUGrid needs 4 cores - one for each GPU.

When BigAdv in Folding does die off, things could get interesting if the big CPU crunchers are still alive and move to BOINC stuff.

I do have access to another 32 cores, but I'd probably get sacked for using them. :(

(using the 8 I already do use is possibly pushing my luck a little!)

I'm waiting for our san to refreshed then i'll have a 1 year old server to use. Have got another server under my desk but don't use it as the pwer supply is a bit too noisey to have it on in the office.

You seem to have two accounts in the team (one Sourcefinder and one Pogs). You could drop them a line and ask for them to be merged.

Looks like Stan_Lite is my biggest threat, though I'm safe for quite a while yet (I'll have to return my fastest machine to its previous role soon, so my RAC will take a hit when I do that).

Team is up to 54th overall and 46th on POGS. Progress, but more needed!

Should hit 2 million on POGS and 3 million overall this week - the recently-released Linux client helped me up my output by another 3k PPD, so I got there faster than I expected.

With the 92 trophies I now have, I think I may need a new cabinet soon. :)

Berserker if you haven't already grab the [H] optimised .exe for linux, and for anyone else on pogs switch to linux and use the [H] exe, I'm currently using Ubuntu 12.04 in VMware.

My 3770K @ 4.2 Ghz results..
Windows: 212 credits for around 6,100 secs of CPU time
Linux (as is): 212 credits for around 6,300 secs of CPU time
Linux ([H] exe) 212 credits for around 2,600 secs of CPU time

.. nearly 2.5x quicker.

So that's how you got your obscenely large firepower then! Well done, Sir.

My linux system is having a rest right now, but if/when it gets woken up again, I'll do that.

I've stopped now :( the project admin has requested we don't use optimised apps, see here, he's stated that he will release an optimised version after Easter so I'll wait till then as the current one is so inefficient, the SSE3 version I ended up using was 6-7 times quicker than the standard one.
