Hi all.

Girlfriend's HD2 running CM7 began to die a few weeks ago, since I'd ordered a Nexus 4 I gave her my Nexus S (running CM10). The only thing she's not happy with is the onscreen keyboard. She doesn't like full QWERTY, and prefers the phonepad keyboards that mimic the old physical buttons. On the HD2 I had installed HTC_IME, and that ticked all the boxes. However, HTC_IME doesn't work on Jelly Bean (which CM10 is based on) and I can't find a decent alternative.

Does anyone know of any?

I want to say... Thumb keyboard has T9 IIRC.

Super edit: What you're after is commonly called a T9 keyboard (with or without prediction - a Nokia invention no less), T9 Android brings back a few solutions.

I know exactly what you mean op. SWMBO is exactly the same. If it does not have numpad, then she refuses to even look at it.

I'm a complete beginner with android but my s3 with jelly bean has an option to do this with the standard keyboad. It's called 3x4 in language and input/samsung keyboard/portraight modes. Don't know if that's just the s3 though.
